Decrim Discussion!

All are welcome to join our online event on 20th October 2022 from 7-8.30PM GMT.

On the third anniversary of the decriminalisation of abortion in Northern Ireland, we are opening up the conversation globally to activists and thinkers across the world who are engaging with decriminalisation and its intersections.

Speakers on the night will be:

  • Dr Órfhlaith Campbell from Northern Ireland who will speak about drug decriminalisation and its implications for stigma and managing addiction.

  • Nicky Spencer-Coker BL from Sierra Leone who will speak about abortion decriminalisation in Sierra Leone and its implications for the country and globally.

  • Luísa Santos, PhD Student who will tell us about the history of Brazilian sex workers and their discovery of arthritis medicine doubling up as the abortion pill - amidst state violence and oppression.

  • Catherine Healey from NZPC: Aotearoa New Zealand Sex Workers’ Collective who will talk to us about the decriminalisation of sex work and its implications.

All are welcome - Link TBC.
