Our International Women’s Day theme this year is ‘Stop Violence Against Women and Girls’ that includes trans women and girls, women locally and globally, whether they are facing sexism, misogyny, racism, poverty or state, sexual or domestic violence, street harassment or barriers to our reproductive rights - violence against women and girls is is alive and well, embedded in our culture and every day lives. It’s something we feel strongly about and try to tackle in our activism and advocate change for. There are so many different forms of violence that we face, some obvious and some subtle that are normalised under patriarchy, we use this annual day of activism as a vessel to raise awareness and solidarity.
We hope you all will join us on Saturday 11th March, bring everyone you know - bring signs and banners flags and drums (anything that will make a noise) in a show of strength, solidarity and resilience and to say we are here and we are ready to stand up and fight for women everywhere!
We are also going to make the event a fun day with stalls, music, poetry and food
If you’d like to play some music or hold a stall of your own please get in touch with us!
